Measuring Quality: Assessment Tools to Evaluate Your Social-Emotional Learning Practices

By Staff from Partnership for Children & Youth

The Partnership for Children & Youth (PCY) is an advocacy and capacity-building organization championing high-quality learning opportunities for underserved youth in California, with an emphasis on after school, summer learning, and community schools.

This guide is designed to help California school districts and their partner organizations identify tools to assess the quality of their practices in relation to social-emotional learning (SEL). We’ve reviewed ten commonly available program quality assessment tools, aligned with five of the California Quality Standards for Expanded Learning that are critical practice areas for SEL.
