Having dealt with a lot of gun violence in the community, the Rochester Childfirst Network selected a research-based program, PATHS, with the goal of addressing both social emotional and academic outcomes. According to their coordinator, who has passion for young people in the community, “teaching children how to be emotionally and socially smart is a matter of life and death.”
